Turn off voicemail at KPN, Vodafone, Odido and more
Your voicemail isn't on your phone, it's with your provider. So you switch it off with a text, a call or a code, the same way on an iPhone as on an Android phone. Below: how it works per Dutch provider, what happens next and what to do if you still don't want to miss callers.
The quickest way to switch it off
- KPN, Odido and Simyo: text UIT to 1233.
- Vodafone: call 12330 (free).
- Ben: switch it off in Ik Ben or the Ben app, under Internet & Bellen.
- Another provider, or it doesn't work? Call ##002#. That code removes all call forwarding on your number, including to your voicemail.
Per provider: switch off and back on
As the providers explain it on their own websites, checked on 30 October 2026. Type a code in the Phone app and press call. Send a text from your usual messages app.

Turn off voicemail on an iPhone or Samsung
Your voicemail sits with your provider, so you use your provider's text or code. It works the same on every phone:
- Text: open your messages app and send UIT to 1233 (KPN, Odido, Simyo).
- Code or number: open the Phone app, type 12330 (Vodafone) or ##002# on the keypad and press call.
- Then test it: call yourself from another phone and don't answer.
What happens when your voicemail is off
- Your phone rings longer: at KPN a call otherwise goes to voicemail after 20 seconds.
- Callers can't leave a message any more. You see a missed call, but not what the caller wanted.
- ##002# also removes your other call forwarding, for example to a colleague or to RingBrio. Set that up again afterwards.
No voicemail, still reachable
Many business owners turn off voicemail because callers don't leave a message anyway. Then a missed call simply stays missed. With RingBrio an AI assistant answers when you don't:

Can I turn off voicemail on my iPhone?
Yes, with your provider's text or code, because your voicemail sits with your provider, not on your iPhone. Text UIT to 1233 (KPN, Odido, Simyo) or call 12330 (Vodafone). On an Android phone, such as a Samsung, it works exactly the same.
What happens when my voicemail is off?
